Ezgi from Turkey joined us in 2018 for our Volunteer Program where she helped with an arts program for children in vulnerable situations. Here is her story…
Throughout my study, I realized that I am very open-minded and global person who is interacting with people effortlessly. Last year, I participated to an exchange program for 6 months in Bologna, Italy-Where I met with many Argentinian friend and able to meet with the Argentinian culture for the first time. Alongside my experience abroad in Italy, I have decided to visit Argentina and explore more about it. I discovered that Argentina and Turkey are very similar countries on economic and political basis. That is why I thought this experience would be a perfect opportunity for me.
I am very open-minded, able to work with team, organized, disciplined and positive. I am capable of adapting to new situations and people. Moreover, I am very much interested with women empowerment, youth outreach and environmental protection. I participated to countless conferences and workshops about youth development and political perspectives. I worked for several think tanks and companies including political and economical consulting. I have worked in political press conferences and translated reports. I am able to speak 5 different languages including English, French, Turkish basic level Spanish and Italian.
This program was a perfect opportunity for me to practice my knowledge of Spanish, to interact with Latin-American culture and help regional-national development of the society. Mente Argentina’s Volunteering program is perfectly aligning with my future career goals- both for my graduate program experience and professional life.
