The Mente Argentina Volunteer Program is the perfect option for anyone who is looking to give something back to the community that they are visiting. We have designed a unique volunteer experience in Argentina, which is the perfect way to meet new people, immerse yourself in Argentine culture and make a difference abroad.
Through our Volunteer Program, we pair you with a local organization where you will be able to work on and help develop special projects. These locally run projects have a wide variety of focuses so we help to match you with one that interests you. Some of these projects might be working with kids, seniors, adolescents, homeless people or sustainable development, just to name a few.
The Mente Volunteer Program is especially recommended for proactive people who want to help others and really become part of the local community in Buenos Aires. Mente Argentina has partnered with several volunteer organizations & NGOs in Argentina that are in need of international volunteers who are passionate, hardworking, and ready to make a difference. Our host organizations love to welcome enthusiastic volunteers from all over the world and showing you the amazing work that they are doing while also learning new things from you along the way.
Our Volunteer Program is recommended for participants of all Spanish levels. Whether you are a beginner or have been studying Spanish for years, being surrounded by the language every day will help you take your Spanish to a new level. If you plan to volunteer for at least 6 weeks, we even include a week of our Intensive Spanish Program, free of charge!
We recommend that volunteers participate for at least 4 weeks to really become part of the local community and the project they are becoming part of. Of course our host organizations are thrilled to have you join their team for even longer, from just 4 weeks to several months.
Beyond your personal exploration of Buenos Aires and any travels around Argentina, Mente Argentina offers several weekly activities to take your learning outside of the classroom and volunteer placement. These activities also connect you with the rest of your Mente family, both staff and fellow participants, as you explore the city together. During these outings, 2-3 times per week, we show you our favorite brunch spots, happy hours, theaters, museums, parks and so much more. Check out the Mente Instagram for lots of photos.
A coordinator from Mente will join you on your first day when you meet with a coordinator from the local organization to make sure that it is a good match and that you feel comfortable getting started. As you are a volunteer, the amount of hours per week that you commit to the project is completely up to you. Our host organizations understand that you are also a tourist hoping to explore other parts of Buenos Aires, Argentina and South America so they are very flexible and work with you to set up a schedule that works for everyone.
