As the fifth largest wine producer in the world, its no wonder that Argentina has become a top destination for wine enthusiasts across the globe. The Mente Argentina Wine Program is perfect for anyone interested in learning about all that the country’s ever expanding wine industry has to offer.
Since the 1990s Argentina has become the largest wine exporter in South America and “vinotourism” across the country has grown along with the popularity of Argentinian wines worldwide. Although Mendoza is home to over half of the wine production in the country but with the variety of climates and altitudes across Argentina, the varieties of wine are always expanding. Beyond Mendoza, the provinces of San Juan, La Rioja, Salta, Catamarca, Jujuy, Río Negro and even Buenos Aires are producing a wide variety of wines both for domestic consumption and exportation. This makes the country’s capital, Buenos Aires, a great hub for those looking to learn about the diversity of Argentine wines.
Our program is accessible for those of all Spanish levels and combines both group and individual classes to expand your knowledge of wine in the Argentine context. Learn from experts at a top local institute and take what you have learned in the classroom out into the world. You will be able to apply your new knowledge at the grocery stores and wine stores in Argentina and back home. From your home base in Buenos Aires you have the opportunity to travel to different wine regions across the country and learn hands-on at vineyards and bodegas.
Beyond your personal exploration of Buenos Aires and any travels around Argentina, Mente Argentina offers several weekly activities to take your learning outside of the classroom. These activities also connect you with the rest of your Mente family, both staff and fellow participants, as you explore the city together. During these outings, 2-3 times per week, we show you our favorite brunch spots, happy hours, theaters, museums, parks and so much more. Check out the Mente Instagram for lots of photos.
The wine program can also be easily combined with the other programs that we offer. It is popularly combined with our Intensive Spanish Program for those looking to also practice their language skills and our Cooking Programs for the full gastronomic learning experience.
Our wine program is for individuals of all knowledge levels and can be tailored to your specific level and interests. The course is split into both theory and tasting, to allow you to pair the knowledge you learn with hands-on experience, helping develop your skills as a wine connoisseur. You will also have the chance to taste more than 50 exclusive Argentine and international wines.
We could talk to you all day about our programs, but we also want you to hear directly from our past participants about their stories and why they chose our Wine Program. Here are some of their stories:
